Following the brilliant success of the first SLR Chronograph, Calibre 36-R introduced at Basel-world 2004, TAG Heuer was determined to launch the TAG Heuer SLR for Mercedes-Benz, an exceptional new proof of the brand?s watch-making genius.

The new SLR chronograph, commemorating the long and fruitful alliance between TAG Heuer, McLaren(since 1985) and Mercedes-Benz(since 1995), will no doubt attract a great deal of attention from fans of prestigious automobiles and connoisseurs of premium timepieces. The high-luxury brands are closely united as they share the same values - great performance, matchless design, high level of prestige, numerous innovative idea, and, what is vital, deep passion for car racing. The watch was developed exclusively for Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren car owners. The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren automobile, launched in 2003, represents one of the worlds most powerful and exceptional sports cars.

The history of the SLR Watch and TAG Heuer- Mercedes-Benz partnership is related to the year 1955 when Juan Manuel Fangio drove the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR (Sports, Light, Racing) "Silver Arrow" to victory in the Mille Miglia, one of the most exciting motor racing competitions. The driver had a TAG Heuer watch on his wrist that day, just as every Formula One driver.

TAG Heuer SLR for Mercedes-Benz with automatic chronograph is a limited edition, only 3,500 pieces, for sports car enthusiasts. It is an exceptionally successful result of a fruitful partnership between Mercedes-Benz and TAG Heuer. This watch is produced exclusively for Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren car owners and combines the classical art of watchmaking with the new generation high-tech movement.

The special attribute of this tech-advanced wristwatch is the arrangement of the chronographs buttons beside the dial, resembling the layout of the shift buttons on the automatic transmission selector lever in the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ultra-luxury super sports car. The TAG Heuer SLR for Mercedes-Benz is powered by the mechanical TAG Heuer Calibre 17 movement with automatic winder system, chronograph and date functions.

The case of the TAG Heuer SLR for Mercedes-Benz is polished-satin alternating finishing for elegance and ergonomic curves. This watch has an ultra-scratch-resistible crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. This model has 2 crowns: at 3 oclock engraved SLR, and at 9 oclock with stamped TAG Heuer logo. The internal bi-directional bezel operated by the crown at 9 oclock, allows the driver to measure time limits, for example elapsed or remaining racing time. The outer fixed black bezel in fine-brushed titanium has an engraved Tachymeter scale for calculating speeds. The TAG Heuer SLR for Mercedes-Benz is produced with a black alligator strap, fully built-in the case, that has a safety-folding claps to prevent accidental opening. At the same time, it can be easily opened with the help of pushbuttons on the sides of the clasp. This watch is also water resistant to 100 meters.
