Founded in 1775, Montres Breguet SA is today at the pinnacle of Swiss luxury watch brands. Its unique position in watch history and European culture originated in the historical luminaries who wore Breguet watches (Napolon, Marie-Antoinette, Churchill) and in famous writers who mentioned Breguet in their works, like Pushkin, Balzac, Victor Hugo. Considered by his equals as the father of the greatest revolution in the science of time-keeping, Breguet invented a series of breakthroughs : self-winding watches, gong springs, Breguet spiral, tourbillon, shock-protection devices, etc. Todays Classique line is the symbol of Breguets unmistakable style and elegance. With fluted case-bands, rounded horns, Breguet hands and enamel dials with Breguet Arabic numerals, the Classique watches are true to the traditional values of Breguets original features.

No matter who was in power in Europe, he wore a Breguet. The master, who built the first watches with perpetual calendar and moonphase indication as early as 1795, was not only a technical visionary, but a pioneer in the business world as well. Aside from considering (and executing) special requests from royalty and wealthy patrons, Breguet also cased his movements in gold and silver, created lavish carrying cases of Morocco leather, provided spare parts, and was perhaps the first watchmaker to encounter counterfeit examples of his work.
