Bell & Ross was born in 1992 by a team of aeronautical designers and specialists of aircraft and space controls joined together to create watches perfectly suiting a professional use. Each Bell & Ross chronograph is designed by men with a passion for perfection in the manufacture of fine quality watches and chronographs able to withstand the rigors of extreme careers. Bell & Ross watches are intended for astronauts, pilots, divers, bomb-squad experts, explorers and others who require that their timepiece stand up to high altitudes, arctic temperatures and high acceleration. The brand has captured a rapidly growing marketplace with male watch afficionados who admire its masculine, military like appearance.

What sets Bell & Ross apart from other Swiss watchmakers is its focus on utilitarian design, complimented by exceptional technical craftsmanship usually found inside luxury cases. Their designs tend to follow the school of form follows function, so the distinctive square shape of the Instrument line is, in fact, dictated by the goal of precision timekeeping and durability.In 2005 Bell & Ross introduced the BR 01 Instrument, the wristwatch born of an airplane clock. The BR 01 Instrument is Bell & Ross most distinctive design. The BR 01 Instrument is designed to look like a gauge on the instrument panel of a modern aircraft. The model numbers end with either a 92 or a 94. The models that end with 92 have automatic movements and the models that end with 94 have automatic chronograph movements. There is also a model that ends with 97 that has a power reserve
