Since the companys start in 1875 Audemars Piguet has stood among the best, with its early development of the 8-ligne minute repeater and its 1960s record breaking thin movement. But it is the Royal Oak that has become APs most renowned watch. It was designed in 1972 by Gerald Genta, whos well-known skill has been used to create masterpieces for many other high end brands such as Patek Philippe, Omega, and IWC. The Royal Oak was a surprise success, carving out its niche as a luxury sports watch.The Royal Oak got its name from three of Britains Royal Navys warships that sailed between 1802 and 1939. Its relationship to ships can be seen in the porthole shaped bezel, and its sporty design.

One of the most highly anticipated models in modern luxury watch history, the T3 is certainly not a shy or retiring watch.Purpose built for use in the third installment of the popular Terminator movie series, its design was developed in close co-operation with Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger, star of the series and longtime AP fan.The watch is huge. Next to the T3, even the Offshore chrono is dwarfed by comparison. According to the press slicks, the T3 is designed to be worn either directly on the wrist or over a shirt or jacket sleeve...hmmm...a nice black or brown leather motorcycle jacket...
